About
Besides enjoying our summer vacation in a clean, quiet and safe natural environment, we are giving our children the opportunity to spend time and make friends with other children from different countries, encouraging them to learn and get comfortable with foreign languages, which develops tolerance and interest towards others, their lifestyle and culture. This all happens in a spontaneous and natural way through participating in various games and artistic, physical and ecological activities. Being aware of the traditional ways of social interaction getting close to extinction, we are doing our best to show our children the joy that can come out of ordinary human interaction through live word, movement, community work etc.
All activities include parents and children. Such social interaction in which parents and children acknowledge each other in new way, as partners in having fun and creating in a happy and playful environment, strengthens the bond between them in the most beautiful way and creates a strong, warm imprint in their memories.
Location
Olib is one of the most beautiful Croatian islands located in the Zadar archipelago just east if the island Silba and west of the island Pag. Olib area is only 26km², and there is only one village on the island that dates back to Roman times, but has many lovely and hidden coves, as well as the wide, sandy and shallow beaches offering great oportunities for bathing, boating and playing.Olib is also very green fertile island with many kinds of produce including good wine, olives, fish and a very good sheep's cheese. There are no cars and the island has a quiet, relaxing and friendly atmosphere. There are a few restaurants, a bar, a shop, post office, exchange office and tourist board office. You can bring your own bicycle or you can hire one. Olib island is a great place for cycling!
Transfer
We strongly recommend buying traveling insurance!
Ferry
You can take a ferry from Zadar which will only take about three and a half hours. You may check for ferry schedules at Jadrolinija to avoid any inconvenience (District of Zadar: Zadar – Premuda/Mali Lošinj).
Catamaran
You can also take the catamaran Miatours which is faster and takes about two hours, but it cannot transfer cars, bikes are allowed with the extra cost. We strongly recommend buying a ticket for the ferry or catamaran in advance.
Registration
To register for participation you need to:
- fill out the registration form for you and your family
- pay the participation fee (that way weʼll know for sure that youʼre coming)
- send us the payment confirmation to contact@waldorfcamp.net
